[POLITICS] Fresh crisis rocks APC as Oshiomhole comes under pressure to resign

Fresh crisis has rocked the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as some top executives of the party are beginning to call for the resignation of the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

GUSAULOADED reports that most of the people calling for Mr Oshiomhole’s resignation had based their argument on the party national chairman’s alleged failure to add value to the party since his assumption at the helms of affair.

Recall that the ruling party had come under ridicule following court orders sacking many of its members-elect.

Many political pundits attributed the party’s albatross to the mode of party primaries introduced by Mr Oshiomhole which eventually pitched many members of the party against each other.

On Monday, 27 May, the deputy national chairman of the party (North), Lawan Shuaibu had written a letter to the national chairman accusing him of incapability, as well as lack of requisite experience,  to run a political party.

Mr Shuaibu’s letter, dated 27 May and obtained by Blueprint, was titled: “APC: It’s fortune and misfortune, time to act!”

According to the deputy national chairman of the party, in advanced democracies, people who fail to add value or build over and above what they met on assumption of duty always show civilised examples by honourably resign.

He said: “It is my honest opinion that your ability to ensure this party flourish is deficient as you lack the necessary composure and you also don’t possess the capabilities and the requisite experience to run a political party.”
